Himachal Pradesh’s Dharamshala is one of the hill stations in India. It is full of conifer trees and oak trees. Mountains with snow caps surround this hill station making it look breathtakingly beautiful. Famous Kangra valley can be seen from here. This hill station is popular trekking destination. Like other hill stations, slopes are filled with tea plantations. However, Dharamshala does not have too many slopes. Instead, it is divided into two different levels. Mcleodganj dharamshala and Forsythganj Dharamshala are located at a greater height. Refugees from Tibet have settled down here, because of which, these places resemble Tibet more than they resemble India.  Many of Tibetian handicrafts can be bought from here.

Dharamshala is also famous for access to many other tourist haunts like the Dal Lake, and Bhagsunag Falls. In addition, holy shrines of Hindus such as Baijnath Shiv Temple and Jawalamukhi temple are located at about 54 kms from it. So people often opt to stay in a hotel in Dharamshala and visit the places around it. Himachal Pradesh Tourism department offers more information about Dharamshala and the facilities available here. Pilgrims often travel from Delhi to Dharamshala. The word Dharamshala should be differentiated from the Dharamshala used for choultries in holy places. Therefore, haridwar Dharamshala would imply a Choultry there rather than a destination.

However, there are tour operators who operate on Haridwar Dharamshala route for pilgrims. It is possible to book a resort in Dharamshala that offers all the contemporary facilities apart from continental food.
