There is a lot to be said about Mumbai. This business capital of India is actually the capital of Maharashtra province in the country. The city is bustling with people. There is a “local” train system which runs mostly in the North South direction. It divides the city in East and West parts.

A harbor line is also there which goes towards Mumbai’s harbor. Mumbai tourism is an art to get into those locals and get out of them in peak hours, which a tourist coming from more organized parts of the world may not like. However, traveling in these locals is worth a try at other hours, especially because it is so affordable and because it is a mystery how people can still reach their destinations in time, amidst what seems to be a chaos. Places to visit in Mumbai includes the Fort area in Churchgate, which was built during the British regime and has many of the old buildings defying time.

While they are not in pristine condition, they do give an idea about how the city must have looked during the British era. Beaches include Juhu Beach, and Chowpati beach. There are national parks, and creeks as well as salt pans in Mumbai. The port area of Mumbai city is hectic. The Gateway area in Churchgate is lively in the evenings.  The city has a few gardens and lakes as well. Most prominent amongst these are Vihar Lake, Powai Lake, and Hanging Gardens. There are a few museums and art galleries that periodically hold exhibitions of works of famous artists as well as upcoming artists. Mumbai hotels are rather expensive, but prior booking can help in reducing costs.

It is also possible to look for affordable hotel in Mumbai on Internet but it is better to confirm its distance from available means of transport by checking it in any Mumbai map.
