Bhojpur is basically a town which located in Madhya Pradesh, India. The origin of the name came from the King Bhoja, who was the most popular king of the Paramara dynasty. Although there are no archaeological evidence which could be found regarding the place before the eleventh century but the fact which has been renowned by the locals suggest that the King took a vow to built nine dams in this place.

The Bhojpur temple is one of the most popular places of the town. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and that is why it is also referred to as the Shiva temple. This structure is under the fortification of the Archaeological Survey of India. The temple is incomplete and the Quarries and the rock drawings depict important aspect with respect to the culture.

The Bhojpur temple is an intriguing place to visit for its unique architecture and the sheer artworl that it embraces with itself. The construction of temple was done under the reign of Raja Bhoj but unfortunately it was left complete as he was defeated by the combined efforts of the Chalukyas and the Lakshmi-Karna dynasty. However, the temple still stands and is one of the most amazing structures present in Bhopal.
