Kovalam is a tourism destination in the city of Thiruvanathapuram, Kerala. It is a beach town along the Arabian sea. It is one of the most popular and important tourist destinations in India. Kovalam was brought to public notice as a tourist place by the Maharaja of Travancore. The potentialiaty of this place as a tourist destination was then discovered. One important thing about Kovalam is that it comprises of three beaches which form the Kovalam beach crescent together. The three beaches are the Lighthouse beach, Hawah beach and the Samudra beach.
