Sonamarg Tourist Places

Sonamarg or Sonmarg is an exceptionally beautiful hill station in Kashmir. It is one of those places to visit in Kashmir that should never be left out. There are three Glaciers that can be found here apart from one of the tributaries of river Jhelum. The white water gushing out of the mountains can look exceptionally beautiful amongst the different shades of brown and green rocking surroundings. However, Sonmarg tourism is more about traveling towards and from it, as the road travel offers a picturesque view of Kashmir and Himalayan valley in general.

A lot of mountains covered with Himalayan vegetation, and snow in many places can be truly ethereal to look at. This is the reason authorities promoting tourism in Jammu Kashmir have identified this place as a tourist destination. Weather in Sonmarg can be an issue because in winters snow does not allow people to travel much. Moreover, there can be avalanches as well. However, spring truly has sonmarg springing to life. Finding a hotel in sonmarg that offers contemporary facilities is next to impossible. However, sonmarg Kashmir is still worth a visit because of the majestic view of the Himalayas out here.  The place is primarily known for its natural beauty so a tourist can choose to customize his or her itinerary instead of depending upon others to offer any guidance.

However, local taxi drivers who take tourists from Srinagar to this picturesque hill station can also be valuable sources of information.  Trekking and mountaineering is one reason many people come here. But it is advisable to have a local guide in such case as landmarks would be hard to identify.
